Sun Salutations, Inc. is an Arizona based company dedicated to creating innovative props and accessories for the advancement of health and fitness, with a focus on yoga.

Our company was formed in 2002 before the launch of our first product line, the Yoga Grip Hand And Foot Gloves. These revolutionary gloves designed to reduce slipping on mats were an unexpected hit in the yoga community and prompted the minds here at Sun Salutations to delve deeper into our creativity. In January of 2005 we unveiled a full line of yoga and fitness accessories that perfectly complement our gloves including mats, bricks, straps, and weights. We also unveiled a new line of gloves with the finger tips removed called the Yoga Grip Cut-Off Hand Gloves. And in summer of 2005 we will debut our exclusive new Yoga Grip Travel Gloves as well as a whole list of exciting new products!

While developing innovative goods has been the cornerstone of our existence, it’s been our outstanding Customer Service that has really helped us establish our company as one of excellence. The old school mentality of “the client comes first” not only exists at Sun Salutations but thrives here. When we set out to build our company we made a commitment to ourselves that customer service would be every bit as important as the goods we offer. We will always treat our clients in a professional, courteous, competent, and most of all friendly manner. It’s a policy we abide by, a policy we believe in, and a policy we hope you’ll get to know.

Now that you have had a chance to learn a little more about our company, we’d like you to learn a little about the name of our company! While most folks associated with yoga understand the meaning of Sun Salutations, many of our clients who are using our gloves for purposes other than yoga, and who are not familiar with yoga, inquire about our company name all the time! With that said, please allow us to educate you on the Sun Salutation.

Sun Salutation (Surya-Namaskar)
Derived from the Sanskrit words “surya” meaning sun, and “namaskar” which stems from the word “namas” meaning “to bow to” or “to adore.” A series of yoga postures performed in a single, graceful flow. Each movement is coordinated with the breath. The sun salutation provides meditation while building strength and flexibility.

In ancient times, Hindus revered the sun as both the physical and spiritual heart of our world and the creator of all life itself. The Surya Namaskar, or Sun Salutation was a way for the Hindus to honor this sacred force.
